mortgage-brokers-private-money-lendersAn important question to ask when you are working with a consultant of any kind, especially a loan officer or mortgage professional, is “how do I know they have my best interest at heart?” I have found the more I ask this question the more I realize that they do not. A second question that is worth examining is “what conflicting interests are in the way of us working together towards the same goal?” In today’s world unfortunately the banks have most definitely not been acting with the consumer’s best interest at heart. It is isn’t right or wrong, it just is. Since the dawn of age banks have operated for the explicit and sole purpose of making money, and this serves a valuable purpose to our society, but make no mistake, customer satisfaction and simply “caring” is not in their DNA. Especially since 2008, as banks have been operating in survival mode.

This is one advantage that an independent mortgage broker has, his/her interests can be aligned with yours, as they do not have stockholders to please and a balance sheet to even out. Our mantra is that “we work for you” and many times it is this perspective that makes all the difference. We work with you and take on the lenders for you. We worry about all the little things, so you don’t have to. And of course, this is the essence of what transparency is all about, getting rid of the barriers and complex interests so that you can see who we are and where our focus lies.
